Your Trainers

Your Lead Trainers are Dieter Buchner and Alison Snelling who bring a wealth of experience of the spa and wellness industry along with leadership development expertise gained in spa, wellness, hospitality and retailing. In addition, workshops are supported by contributions from industry experts with relevant specialist knowledge.

		Dieter Buchner For over 20 years, Dieter enjoyed a successful career in learning and development in the hospitality industry with companies such as Banyan Tree, Hyatt International and Rezidor Hotel Group. More recently he held the post of Director of Education & Research for MSpa International, a Bangkok-based Spa Management company.

In 1994, Dieter was a key player in the pioneering team that created the first Banyan Tree Resort & Spa in Phuket. Trained at the Maui Academy of Healing Arts, Hawaii, Dieter gained experience in holistic massage therapy, reflexology, zen touch shiatzu, lomi lomi and other healing modalities. He is also qualified in Thai massage.

He has a unique background in the corporate world organising and delivering educational programmes in conjunction with extensive business and industry knowledge and a passion for wellness.

As an international speaker and founder and Managing Partner of Bangkok based Urban Healing Company, Dieter educates and empowers spa and wellness professionals to bring more authenticity to the spa and wellness experience.

		Alison Snelling Alison has a rich mix of experience drawn from a career in leisure and hospitality management, over 20 years both in operational and training and development roles.

Alison has extensive business experience and a track record of working as a successful learning and development consultant providing bespoke services to organisations internationally across Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Clients include well known brands such as Radisson SAS, Hilton Hotels, Kempinski Hotels, Center Parcs, and MSpa International, to mention a few.

As a Managing Partner of Urban Healing, Alison applies her expertise in the development and delivery of interactive and innovative management development programmes, trainer development workshops, recruitment and assessment tools, and bespoke guest service and sales programmes.

Alison gained a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Leicester, UK. She is an experienced coach and qualified in utilising psychometrics in assessment and development settings. In addition, she is also an Avatar Master, an NLP practitioner and is currently studying to become a Wellness Coach.
