Getting to Wellness Summit 2008

If this is your first visit to Malaysia, you will be delighted to know that you will be going through one of the world’s best airports, the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in Sepang which has a serene environment in line with its ‘airport in the forest and forest in the airport’ concept. This award-winning airport has received numerous accolades including ‘The Brand Laureate’, the Grammy Awards for branding for Best Brands Transportation Airport 2006-2007.

From KLIA, a 35-minute drive will lead you to Palace of the Golden Horses, official venue of the fourth Wellness Summit. Although the Wellness Summit will only be held later in the year in October, you are advised to book a place early so that you have ample time to make your travel plans.

For Malaysian nationals or residents, the Wellness Summit venue is only 20 minutes away from the Kuala Lumpur city centre.

Please view our programme or visit the venue page.

We hope you will join us at Wellness Summit 2008 from October 15 - 17, 2008.

Selamat Datang!

At a glance ...

Time Zone
Malaysia's standard time: 8 hours of Universal Co-ordinated Time (formerly known as Greenwich Mean Time).

Climate
Hot and humid Malaysia is blessed with a tropical climate that is mostly sunny but do not be surprised by sudden downpours followed by a burst of sunshine especially in the months from September to December on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Temperatures range from 32 degrees Celsius during the day and 22 degrees Celsius at night. Loose clothing made of cotton is best although most public buildings are air-conditioned. Therefore, a jacket or shawl is a must if you are going to spend most of the day attending a conference indoors.

Currency
The Malaysian currency note is the Ringgit Malaysia (RM or MYR), which is equivalent to 100 sen. You can carry not more than MYR1000 into and out of the country. Visitors are also allowed to carry out of Malaysia foreign currency and travellers cheques not exceeding the equivalent of MYR10,000.
