Prior to his fifteen years in the spa industry, Dr Franz Linser lectured on the science of sport at Innsbruck University and successfully trained the Austrian National Ski Team from 1989-92. He brought his vast experience in health and tourism into politics as a Member of the European Parliament from 1996-99.

Mariela de Oliveira Silveira MD is a Research Physician dedicated to spreading the Kurotel Culture. She received her medical degree at the Brazilian Lutheran University; Nutrology post-graduate degree at the Sao Paulo University, Nutrology specialization at the Brazilian Association of Nutrology; and Acupuncture post-graduate certification at the Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul. After specializing in psychiatry at the Porto Alegre’s Clinical Hospital, Dr Silveira decided to focus on Preventive Medicine and the SPA Business, becoming a member of the Brazilian Association of Nutrology, International College for Advancement Nutrition and American College of Nutrition. As international spokeswoman for Kurotel’s predictive and preventive medicine, Dr Mariela concentrates on treating the whole person by addressing all aspects of human behaviour and using cutting-edge medicine to deliver a healthier and longer life.

JOHN O’SULLIVAN
General Manager, Four Seasons Resorts Bali

As General Manager of Four Seasons Resorts Bali, John O’Sullivan oversees the operation of its resorts in Jimbaran Bay and Sayan. A hotel management graduate of Shannon University (Ireland), John also holds a diploma in management studies from Middlesex Business School (England). In 1990, he was awarded the Caterer and Hotel Keeper Acorn in the category of “30 Under 30 Most Successful Hoteliers” in the UK. As a motivational speaker, he has been invited to speak at various institutions including Bali International School and Breda Business College, Holland. John has published a book, Under the Blazing Sun and is working on another – Odd Poems and Slogans. His artwork has been exhibited in Norway, London, Cairo and Ireland. Money from work sold goes to charity. John is the voice of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts relating to Spa and Wellness in Asia.

Raymond Nadeau, based in New York City, is the author of Living Brands, Collaboration + Innovation = Customer Fascination, published by McGraw Hill in 2007. He is the founder of the virtual agency LBLM (Living Brands, Living Media) and the former vice president of new ideas, global creative director for Coty Inc., Coty Beauty, and Coty Prestige, formerly the Lancaster Group. V. VEN. YONGEY MINGYUR RINPOCHE

The Venerable 7th Yongey Mingyur Dorje Rinpoche is a teacher and master of the Karma Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. Born in Nepal in 1975, he was recognized as a tulku by the 16th Karmapa, the spiritual leader of the Karma Kagyu lineage. At nine, he moved to the hermitage of Nagi Gompa to receive Mahamudra teachings and instructions on Dzogchen with his father, Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche, one of the greatest Dzogchen meditation masters of our time.

At 11, Mingyur Rinpoche studied at Sherab Ling monastery. Rinpoche entered a traditional three-year retreat at 13. By 17, he was appointed the retreat master and assistant khenpo of Sherab Ling. Mingyur Rinpoche teaches actively and is known for his ability to convey Buddhist teachings in a clear, skillful and humorous manner. He is actively involved in the project of Mind, Brain and Behaviour conducted by the University of Wisconsin in the US. He sincerely wishes that the combining modern science and ancient Buddhist philosophy and meditation practice will help people to gain inner peace and happiness. His first book in English The Joy of Living (Harmony, US, April 2007) is a result of his aspiration, realization and experiences throughout his lifetime practice.
