PHILIP M. SNELL
Bio Energetics Researcher

Diagnosed with hepatitis C in 1992, Philip started to venture into alternative therapies. He discovered that medical ozone is a powerful natural anti viral agent. A fateful meeting at a wellness exhibition, brought him to a manufacturer of medical ozone generators whom later became his mentor. After successfully conquered his illness with no negative side effects, Philip embark on his life-long passion for alternative medicine especially in the fields of medical ozone protocols. For 15 years he has helped others with a vast variety of  health conditions with amazing results.

In 1997, Philip organized the first Medical Ozone training for medical doctors in Thailand, a weekend workshop with Dr. Frank Schallenberger - an internationally respected ozone practitioner and lecturer. He also personally funded a clinical trial using direct ozone IV on advanced HIV/AIDS patients, to observe the effects with a view to expand the protocols in Thailand. He is working to expand additional benefits, to include many other synergistic healing therapies, for the body, mind, emotions and spirit. DR KARINA STEWART, LIC, AC, DOM

Dr Karina Stewart has spent 22 years studying and practising Asian healing and spiritual traditions. She holds a Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) from California’s Yo San University and a B.A. in cultural anthropology and Asian religions from Princeton University. She is trained in Hellerwork and Cranial-Sacral Manipulation, yoga and Taoist philosophy and practice.

Prior to Kamalaya, Karina founded a health centre in Kathmandu, Nepal, where she practiced Oriental Medicine and produced a range of Chinese herbal products. Later, she collaborated on a research project with Dr. James Dahlgran, an expert in environmental toxicology, and Dr. Maoshing Ni, author of “Secrets of Longevity, to develop and test medical detoxification protocols combining modern medicine, TCM and Naturopathy.

Karina also designed and directed the medical detoxification programme at the Hall Centre in California and facilitated her ‘Awakening’ retreats, which focused on cellular detoxification and purification practices from both Eastern and Western traditions. Karina is the creative force behind Kamalaya’s holistic wellness sanctuary and brand. Her wisdom, passion and experience continue to guide Kamalaya’s synergistic approach to wellness.

DR ANTHONY W. PERILLO DC, IME, QME, AME, IDE
(USA retired)

Anthony Perillo is 46 years old and has in excess of 20 years of experience in the wellness field.  For much of his career he served as both a practicing physician and as a clinic director and/or manager of multi-disciplinary facilities.  For the past year he has served as Chiva-Som’s Director of Health and Wellness.

He is eminently qualified in a wide variety of conditions arising out of lifestyle including chronic pain and stress disorders.  He has managed teams of healthcare professionals dedicated to enhancing quality of life through an efficient application of traditional and non-traditional healthcare therapeutics.  His teams have included medical physicians (both generalists and specialists), chiropractors, physiotherapists, homeopaths, naturopaths, acupuncturists, wide variety of “bodyworkers”, personal trainers, exercise physiologists, and herbal healers. Integrated Medicine Institute or IMI is the most recent clinic he managed.

Dr. Perillo is much sought after for his expertise in wellness by large companies seeking strategic repositioning to take advantage of the growing worldwide wellness trend.  He served as a lead consultant in the creation of Asia’s first All Natural and Organic Supermarket chain of stores, ThreeSixty. He is also much sought after as a speaker on a wide variety of wellness-related topics including lifestyle and health, mind-body medicine, business trends, modern detox, corporate and personal wellness, etc.

STUART PACK
Chief Executive Officer of Golden Horse Palace Berhad

A British national, Mr. Pack holds a Master of Business Administration from Brunel University, United Kingdom. He has more than thirty years of healthcare management experience with over twenty years of those spent in healthcare in South East Asia. Mr. Pack has also built up experience of the healthcare environment both in USA and UK.

He was attached to Gleneagles Intan Medical Centre, Kuala Lumpur and assumed the position of Chief Executive Officer over the last eight years prior to joining the CHHB Group. In his role as Chief Executive Officer of Hospitality, Leisure & Health Division, he controls the two hotels, Palace of the Golden Horses and Palace Beach & Spa, the timeshare vacation club, the health screening centres and a resort centre at Borneo Highlands, Sarawak.
Combining healthcare and hospitality philosophies of service delivery, Mr. Pack sees the potential of identifying more enhanced management systems that when harnessed would present many new customer driven opportunities. This could lead to strengthening day-to-day business programmes.

As a key management executive who has crossed from a healthcare environment to a hospitality responsibility Mr. Pack is in a unique position to see service delivery from a very different perspective. With this he hopes to enhance healthcare and hospitality services to the benefit of the businesses at hand, as well as maximising customer/patient satisfaction with appropriate business successes and maximised shareholder values.

Yong Yoon Li is a graduate of the Manufacturing Engineering School at the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom with a Masters in Engineering. He also holds a MBA from IMD, Lausanne Switzerland. As General Manager for Royal Selangor International, the world’s most recognised pewter brand Yong Yoon Li ensures that Royal Selangor continues to design and produce beautiful and relevant products to today’s discerning consumers.

His other experiences lie in the motorsports and automotive industry. After having worked as a design engineer in Formula One with Team Lotus International and Nissan Motorsports both in the United Kingdom, he returned to start up TVR Sports Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a boutique sports car manufacturer based in Port Klang. Yoon Li has held various positions on the board of the Entrepreneurs’ Organisation in Malaysia and currently sits on the board as President. In the past, he was on various committees at SIRIM and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Malaysia.

PROF. MARC COHEN
Professor of Complementary Medicine, School of Health Sciences, RMIT University
 
Prof Marc Cohen is a medical doctor with degrees in western medicine, Chinese medicine and biomedical engineering. He is currently Foundation Professor of Complementary Medicine at RMIT University where he is Program Leader for the world’s first online Master of Wellness program. Prof Cohen is an advisor to a number of governmental bodies including the Therapeutic Goods Administration’s (TGA), Complementary Medicine Evaluation Committee (CMEC), National Institute of Complementary Medicine (NICM), and the National Health and Medical Research Council’s Grant Review Panel on Primary Healthcare. He is also Immediate Past President of the Australasian Integrative Medicine Association. In addition to many peer-reviewed journal articles, Prof Cohen has co-authored the first and second editions of Herbs and Natural Supplements: An Evidence-Based Guide and is co-editor along with Prof Gerry Bodeker for the recent text “Understanding the Global Spa Industry“.
